

Kyle Anthony Cortés, M.M. (He/Him), is an Afro-Latino composer, singer-actor, music director, and sound designer based in Chicago. He's most excited by collaborations on new plays and multi-disciplinary works that explore the bounds of our different artistic mediums (acting, movement, sound, and music) for authentic storytelling. An emerging artist on the Chicago scene his credits include collaborations with companies such as The Goodman Theatre, The Second City Theatre, Visión Latino Theatre Co., Artemisia Theatre, Definition Theatre, Fillament Theatre, Forevermore Dance and Theater, Citadel Theatre, ChiArts Theatre, Chicago Summer Opera Theatre, and Wagner Summer Theater Intensive, in various roles. This season, he is proud to be among the twelve (12) Second City Theatre Bob Curry Fellows as a music director.

Passionate about educating historically underserved communities, this season he is a resident teaching artist for the music conservatory at The Chicago High School for the Arts (ChiArts) (Humboldt Park), and has partnered with Chicago Music and Acting Academy (Jefferson Park) and Forevermore Dance and Theater (Elmwood Park) giving private studio lessons in various vocal and instrumental areas. ​
